Impossibly Good Trailers

Yes, the man is a complete nut job, but Tom Cruise is a pretty decent actor…at least for me and that’s from the early 90′s forward.  Many people would highly disagree with me on this, but I believe that his Mission Impossible trilogy is a lot of fun and well done.  The effects are great, actions awesome and the intensity of each successive movie continues to grow.  So for my first article about trailers, I decided to go with this group of movies.

Yes, the first movie didn’t make a whole lot of sense, but this trailer did get people excited for it.  The effects were great and the look of the film was impressive.  It has an intro that calls back to its old TV status and then takes it from there, by giving us just a snip it of how this movie would be.

The second movie came on the scene and was directed by the best action director ever, John Woo.  All his signature shots were there, from insane gun fights, to doves flying around.  The story was a little easier to follow this time around and hey, they threw in Anthony Hopkins!  Another interesting intro and then we get right into the Woo-y action.

The third one is my favorite of the trilogy.  It really did amp up the intensity and really was a good movie from start to finish and this trailer helped, once again, to hook you.  Never thought of Philip Seymour Hoffman as being,” this guy is bad”, type of bad guy, but he does well.  It gives us some of the story without giving anything away and hypes up some of the action.

Yes, Tom Cruise is nuttier than a bag of peanuts, but I like him as an actor.  These trailers are all fun and set up the narration for a group of movies that try to entertain their audience with summer movie joy.
