Welcome to the second part of a series that hopes to lead you in the right direction of what to see each month in 2012. As well as what to run screaming from. Here we go:
July
SEE:
The Dark Knight Rises (July 20th)
Batman people….Bat.man.
SKIP:
Step Up 4 (July 27th)
Because the first three were good?
August
SEE:
Total Recall (Aug. 3rd)
Collin Farrell pulled off the fun in a remake last year, I’m sure he’s going to make it two for two. It also stars the great Bill Nighy!
SKIP:
Dog Fight (Aug. 10th)
It stars almost entirely celebs that aren’t shy in alienating a big chunk of the population by putting them down and calling them stupid if they happen to disagree with their stances. So a political comedy with this bunch will have sucker punch after sucker punch.
September
SEE:
Looper (Sept. 21st)
Directed by the guy who brought the fantastic Brick into our lives now tackles mob hits in the future with Bruce Willis, sold!
SKIP:
Finding Nemo 3D (Sept. 4th)
Can we please put an end to double dip cash grabs and 3D already please?
October
SEE:
Here Comes the Boom (Oct. 12th)
Kevin James hopefully brings along another fun family film that critics will hate. I’m looking forward to it.
SKIP:
TIE: Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D (Oct. 5th) and Halloween 3D (Oct 26th)
See my 3D thoughts above.
November
SEE:
Skyfall (Nov. 9th)
Hopefully more Casino Royale and ZERO Quantum of Solace.
SKIP:
47 Ronin (Nov. 21st)
Remember how awesome it was when Keanu Reeves played little Buddha? Think how awesome he will be as a Samurai in 18th century Japan.
December
SEE:
World War Z (Dec. 21st)
Could reinvigorate the zombie craze or kill it completely.
SKIP:
The Great Gatsby (Dec. 25th)
I still have nightmares about having to read this book in high school. To go over the selection of Gatsby sweaters on film would help even the worst insomniac sleep soundly.
There you have it, a movie a month schedule for all of you. Enjoy what could be a decent year at the movies.

I’m with you right up until December… World War Z sounds like its gonna be crap, and while I am not big on dramas, the cast line up for Great Gatsby and the fact that its being released in December means you can probably already count it as an early contender for 2013 Oscars, even if its only for costume and set design.
