I know I said I was going to have a Wrath of the Titans review up this week, but I decided to save my money and spend time with my family. I’ll be waiting for that one to release on blu ray whenever it does. So if you were looking for that, sorry. A decent week for viewing was had with watching two movies with my gorgeous bride who had not seen either of them. That’s always a good time. Here we go:
Fletch
This is, hands down, my favorite comedy of all time. I am a huge fan of Chevy Chase humor and it is all on display in this classic. I still do quotes from this film to this day. Chase was a genius with his subtle and not so subtle humor. The follow up wasn’t as good, but still work a look if you’ve seen this one. 4 stars out of 4
Bad Boys
Michael Bay makes fun films that require no deep thought when watching them but just turning the brain off and enjoying what is set before you. This film is no exception and it is almost completely awesome. Then they had to have Tia Leon’s character spouting moronic PETA views in almost every scene she is in. You know the types, talking down to people because they know better than you do about anything. Regardless of that needless headache this is a great action movie. 3 stars out of 4
Just Because
Last weekend I drove home from a church men’s retreat with two guys when the discussion of movies came up. The conversation turned to eighties movies and evolved to what movies were great and what ones weren’t. To my shock these two had never seen Fletch or Caddyshack or even…THE GODFATHER! So I decided to write a short list, in no particular order, of ten films every guy should see. Let me know if I am off target or if I might have missed one that should be in this list.
1. The Godfather
2. Caddyshack
3. Fletch
4. Goodfellas
5. Braveheart
6. The Magnificent Seven
7. Heartbreak Ridge
8. Die Hard
9. Raider of the Lost Ark
10. Chariots of Fire

There’s a lot of great sci-fi movies from the 80s that should not be missed: Terminator, Predator, Aliens, etc.
